| An unhappy elephant (most probably more depressed than I am) |
After an unnecessarily long non-lunch with the force-of-nature and all its terror most cultures call a mother whose (in general) usual repertoire is to add heaps of salt to an already gaping wound, I found myself walking around aimlessly, emotionally spent... gravitating towards anything remotely distracting. In my case, The Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden...
I remember going there on some field trip as a child, but never as an adult. Though I've been meaning to give it a visit for years—having been living a few blocks from it all this time—I never really got around to it at any point. Everything there was as expected, the conditions and state of everything was pathetic, sad, unnecessary and inappropriate inside those walls (much like this country).

Though there were some things that were remotely interesting, things I would have loved to expound on visually (forgive the delusions of a Winogrand emulation), all I had on me was a mobile phone and a very bad mood.
I have to say, leaving the place left me feeling worse than I went in, slightly distracted, but infinitely worse.
Another hard and cold reminder that everything not-so-nice that I feel, situations that have led to whatever things that occur that don't fall into the category of remotely happy, are in fact all due to having lived my life with animals in an amazingly cramped zoo.
